COVID-19 taught us that if we are willing to adapt, things can work out in unexpected ways. It also made us realize that solutions exist if we look for them. One undeniable truth is that cameras played a pivotal role in this newly discovered virtual revolution.
After the first phase of COVID-19, as the world cautiously stepped out of its shadows, we received a call from a pharmaceutical company. We had worked with them before the pandemic on a small assignment. Now, they were reaching out again. At the time, it felt like the most promising news. Their request was simple—a facility tour of their manufacturing unit.

During the assignment, I learned that the Head of their Quality Department wanted to meet me. When we sat down to talk, he presented a rather unusual requirement. He wasn’t entirely sure about the process, nor the workflow, nor even the likelihood of success. That was the first time I heard the term Virtual Audit.
The company was a leading pharmaceutical exporter to Europe, America, and Australia. Their facilities required periodic audits, but with international travel restrictions, physical audits were no longer feasible. Regulatory bodies had allowed virtual audits, but the company had already attempted one, and it had failed. That’s when the Quality Head turned to me and asked, “Can you make it work?”
Though I had produced countless videos—from ad films to training videos—this was an entirely new challenge. Unlike traditional video production, we weren’t supposed to record anything. Our cameras were merely tools for the auditors. But the execution had to be flawless. The camera operators needed specialized training to understand the audit process, ensuring real-time synchronization. If an auditor sitting abroad wanted to inspect a specific rack in a particular section, we had to show it instantly and seamlessly.
We took on the challenge. Our first step was to request a demo session. The company was equally invested, knowing how critical this was. After a few initial hiccups, the trial was successful. The first official audit lasted three days and was largely smooth, except for some audio issues. We quickly found a solution. From that point on, it became a series of successful virtual audits.
Since then, we have been their trusted virtual audit partner, conducting hundreds of audit days—not just in Pune but across their pan-India locations. Beyond audits, they continue to rely on us for BTL videos, including a high-profile product launch video.
This wasn’t magic. It wasn’t a miracle. It was about trust, adaptability, and execution. The right opportunity, timely decision-making, a solid team, and, most importantly, the ability to embrace new trends made all the difference.
